My birthday was a few days ago. I celebrated with a princess cake from the Great Dane Baking Company in Huntington Beach. The cake -- a wonderful combination of sponge cake, a layer of custard and jam, covered by a thin layer of whipped cream and a marzipan icing -- is usually green. But for my birthday I ordered a pink one with a perfect white rose. I ordered the smallest one they have because I know that even in my family of four it's very easy to OD on this kind of intense sugar.
And then the next day, my new Dell laptop arrived. It's a Studio 15 and so far it's a joy although getting used to Vista is not that much fun. I'm glad I've had it for a few days before I head off to the UCLA Writer's Studio for the rest of this week.
I love my Dell Studio...it's a great laptop. That cake sounds amazing! Yum.
